Task Force Steering Committee

The Get Fit Kauai NPAC Steering Committee currently has the following four task forces: Built Environment Task Force; Healthy Foods Task Force; Safe Routes to Schools Task Force; Worksite Wellness Task Force

The Steering Committee oversees all efforts of Get Fit Kauai and coordinates work across the task forces and coalition. The committee is made up of each of the task force chairs and co-chairs, officers and at-large members. All steering committee members are also active members of one or more task forces. The coalition coordinator is an ex-officio member.

2011 SURVEY RESULTS FOR GET FIT KAUAI Info
Survey results show high marks for GFK and impact to the community. The online survey to stakeholders was conducted in June, 2011, to evaluate the effectiveness of Get Fit Kauai and the coalition's activities. Thank you to those who participated in the survey and provided valuable feedback. Lehua Choy, MPH, evaluator with the University of Hawaii - Healthy Hawaii Initiative, compiled the information from the survey. PDF

2011 Get Fit Kauai Annual Meeting Info
The annual meeting was held June 9th, 2011 at Courtyard Marriott, Wailua, Kauai
70 people attended this year's annual meeting.
The different task force chairs each gave a PowerPoint presentation showing their accomplishments of the past year.
Jim Charlier, a nationally recognized transportation planning professional, gave a dynamic presentation showing the health benefit of creating walkable communities, a good public transportation system and the importance to have safe and pleasant places to walk.
