Introducing Kauai's Great Weigh Out Companion Program "Me Too!"
Kauai residents that are not part of a team and wish to participate in Kauai's Great Weigh Out 2003 are strongly encouraged to take part in Me Too! It is free to all residents of Kauai 18 years and older.
- Pick up a Kauai's Great Weigh Out "Me Too" folder at Kauai's Great Weigh Out kick off party at Kukui Grove on January 11th, 2003 between 10:00 am. and 1:00 pm. A "Me Too" orientation will be held at 11:00 am. You may also pick up Me Too log sheets at the Department of Health, Ho'ola Lahui Hawaii, or your local Neighborhood Center beginning January 13th, 2003.
- 1 point will be given for every 5-8 fruits and vegetables eaten daily and 2 points for 9 or more fruits and vegetables daily.
- 1 point will be awarded for every 30 - 59 minutes of exercise performed daily and 2 points for 60 minutes or more of exercise performed daily.
- Points are then redeemed for chances at winning prizes at the Weigh Out final party at Kapa'a Neighborhood Center on March 8th 2003. The more points an individual accumulates by eating fruits and vegetables and including exercise into their daily lives, the more chances they will have to win fabulous prizes.
- In addition to earning points, each time your companion attends Weigh Out community fitness activities or educational classes (space permitting), their name will go into a drawing that will be held at our final event on Saturday, March 8, 2003 at Kapa'a Neighborhood Center. The more events a person attends, the more chances that person has to win. For example, if a person attends 15 Weigh Out classes or events, their name will be entered 15 times.
- Participants must be present at Kauai's Great Weigh Out on March 8th to be eligiable for prizes.
Kauai's Great Weigh Out Committee recommends that each participant consult a physician before entering any exercise or nutrition program. By agreeing to participate in "Me Too", the participant also agrees not to hold Kauai's Great Weigh Out responsible for any physical harm occurring during participation in the program.
