All participants of the KGWO are required to obtain a Medical Clearance from their doctor. If a participant does not have health insurance or a doctor, he/she may qualify to get a medical exam at Ho`ola Lahui Hawaii/ Kauai Community Health Center. Obtaining a medical clearance ensures that you are physically able to participate in the KGWO program safely.
A health assessment will be performed prior to and after the 12 week challenge of KGWO. This will allow you to see the effectiveness of the lifestyle changes you have made. The health assessment includes:
- Full Lipid panel
- Blood pressure check
- Blood Glucose check
- Body Mass Index
- Health Questionnaire
- HbA1c (for people with diabetes only)
