| "I joined the Weigh Out program for team building and to lose weight. I never had a cholesterol test and to be honest was a bit bummed out when I found out we had to have a Dr.'s visit prior to being accepted in the program as I am so busy. At the visit I was told my bad cholesterol was 263 and total cholesterol over 300. He advised that cholesterol this high
left untreated can be very dangerous. I have a little girl who is 15 months old and I hope to be around to see her grow up. I just wanted to say thanks, because without your program I probably would have never had this checked I am grateful to the "Kauai's Great Weigh Out". My cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose levels are super down; in fact it was perfect my doctor said! I can't believe it!!! It was the best appointment I have ever had and he was so happy for me, he kept saying to keep up whatever I'm doing because it's obviously working!
"Since being in Kauai's Great Weigh Out I have become more aware of how many resources are available on Kauai for people who want to be healthy. I am eating healthier and since the weigh in I have lost 6 pounds. I intend to continue what I'm doing even after KGWO is over!!!
